House Lockout in Miramar, FL

Getting back into a locked Miramar house costs from $99, and most lockouts come to $99–164 — the same at midnight as at noon. If you live in a gated community, the gate is step one, so tell us your community and sub-association when you call.

A child, an older relative or a pet in danger inside? Call 911 before anything else.

Price by lock type

Lock on the door Starting price Common total
Regular deadbolt, knob or lever $99 $99–164
Keypad or smart lock with dead batteries $99 $99–164
High-security or multi-point (impact door) price on the phone —
Keys lost too: rekey on the same visit $45 a lock $45–60

Included in $99: the drive to you, opening one standard residential lock without drilling, and checking the lock still works afterwards. No night fee and no weekend fee.

What changes the total: a high-security cylinder, an impact door's multi-point lock, a deadbolt and a knob both locked, a lock that's broken inside, or a wait at a gate that can't reach you. If any of these turns up at the door, you hear the new price before we go further.

How fast we get there

Expect us in roughly 20 minutes, whether the house is near Fairway Park on the east side or Vizcaya Park on SW 55th Street in the west (City of Miramar parks). You get your own time on the call.

Getting through the gate

Silver Lakes alone is one master association with 39 sub-associations (Wilder Real Estate Group), and gate rules can differ between them. Sunset Lakes lists a 24-hour guard among the things its HOA fees pay for (Bex Realty), so there's someone at the entrance to tell we're coming, even at 3 a.m. Silver Shores is gated as well (Bex Realty).

How we open the door

  1. On the phone: the address, the lock type (a photo helps), and the price.
  2. On arrival: Ben C. shows you his ID.
  3. Picking or bypassing first — most standard knobs and deadbolts open clean this way.
  4. Keypads: fresh power through the battery terminals or the hidden key, before anything else.
  5. Drilling is the last resort — kept for broken or high-security cylinders, and done only after you've agreed what the replacement costs.
  6. Your ID check, with something showing the address. If it's inside, we look right after opening.

What to have ready

A photo ID showing this address, or a deed, lease or utility bill in your name. Renters and condo owners: the management office may hold a key and be quicker than us.

East or west of the Turnpike

East-side locks are often decades old, so a lockout can be the moment to replace one (lock change). West, expect builder keypads (smart locks).

Apartments and rentals

About a fifth of Miramar's homes are in buildings of five or more units (City-Data). We open your own unit with proof you live there. We won't open a unit for a landlord to remove a tenant — Florida law bars locking a tenant out (F.S. 83.67).

Lockout questions

My keys are lost, not just locked in. Then what?

After opening, a rekey on the same visit costs $45 per extra lock, and the lost keys stop working.

Does my HOA need to approve anything?

Not for a lockout or a rekey. New exterior hardware in a townhome community sometimes needs approval.

What does "from $99" cover?

One standard residential lock, opened without drilling, with the trip included. Full prices.

What should I do while I wait?

Stay somewhere lit and cool, keep your phone charged, and read our locked-out checklist.
