What's included
- The trip. No separate "service call" charge on top of these prices.
- The labor for the job named, and the parts it says (a new standard lock for a lock change; pins and keys for a rekey).
- A test of every lock and key before we leave.
- An itemized invoice under our business name — texted or emailed, your pick.
- Two keys with every rekey or new lock; more copies are $5 apiece, cut while we're there.
- Six months on our workmanship. New locks also keep their maker's warranty.
What changes the total
- Older hardware east of the Turnpike. Locks swapped and painted over through the years can be stiff, mismatched or worn inside, and some doors have odd-sized holes.
- Builder smart locks that need a reset plus a rekeyed backup cylinder.
- High-security or multi-point locks — common on impact entry doors, where parts must match the door's approval (impact-door locks).
- Car keys: year, make and key type; push-to-start sits at the top.
- More locks on one visit lower the cost per lock. What never changes it: the hour, the day of the week, or whether you live behind a gate.
A worked example
A 1990s house in Silver Lakes: front knob and deadbolt, the garage-to-house door, and the side door. The new owner wants every previous key dead.
- First lock rekeyed, trip included: $99
- Three more locks × $45
- Total: $234 — our four-lock whole-house price. (Example only, not a real job.)
What you'll never see from us
- A "$19 rekey" or "$29 lockout" that turns into hundreds at the door. Miami-Dade's consumer office advises getting estimates in writing and an itemized bill (Miami-Dade County) — we do both.
- A night or weekend surcharge.
- Work started before you've agreed to the price.
Paying
We collect only when the Miramar job is done and you've tried the lock: not beforehand, and never at an ATM. Ways to pay: a credit or debit card, Zelle, cash, or a phone wallet such as Apple Pay or Google Pay. Every line of the job shows on the invoice we text or email you.
Saying no is free
- The on-site price doesn't work for you? Say no, and there's nothing to pay.
- Opening it would mean damage, and you won't OK the drill? The opening costs you nothing.
- Change of plans? Cancelling before the technician pulls up is free.
